Do I qualify as a Key Worker?
We define Key Workers as anyone who keeps the country running no matter what the circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to, doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, admin and support, police officers, firefighters, teachers, military, government and many more. Contact us now to arrange to see if we can help.
How does the process work?
Please contact us via phone, email or our website. You will then be assigned an adviser who will arrange an appointment at your convenience to establish what services we can offer and complete a fact-find with all of your relevant information. Your adviser will then research the market for the best deal to suit your needs and recommend a product accordingly. If you are happy to proceed the adviser will then handle the application process for you and be on hand to answer any questions throughout.
What documents will I need to apply for a mortgage?
When applying for a mortgage we will generally request copies of identification documents, bank statements, proof of deposit and proof of income. Some lenders will require further documentation and your adviser will request these from you when appropriate.
My mortgage deal is coming to an end, when should I contact The Key Worker Group for a review?
We would advise to contact us approximately 4 months before the end of your current deal to allow us to conduct a comprehensive review and research the market for the best deal for your circumstances. This will allow us to move you onto a new deal before you move onto the standard variable interest rate which is often considerably more expensive than your current deal.
I already have death in service benefit through my employer, do I need life insurance as well?
As Key Workers you will often benefit from generous death in service payments however it may not be enough to cover your mortgage and then look after your family’s future in the untimely event of your death. Death in service benefit will not pay out if you are diagnosed with a critical illness or injured in the line of duty leaving you unable to work. We can tailor products to your individual circumstances which will cover you against any eventuality leaving you with peace of mind knowing that you and your family are looked after.
How often should I review my life insurance?
As Key Workers you know more than most that life changes quickly; we always advise to regularly review your life insurance policies to ensure you are adequately covered for anything life throws at you. When you buy a new home you are responsible for the purchase from the point of exchange so you need to be protected from that point in time. If circumstances have changed such as starting a new family or relationship, changing roles or pay grades you can contact us to arrange a free protection review.
